What we do

KHRP works in a variety of ways to achieve its aims.

Although there is always overlap between our various activities, they can roughly be grouped into five areas. These are outlined briefly below. Click on one area to see more detailed information.

Litigation and Advocacy

Bringing human rights cases to court. Making use of all available legal instruments to tackle human rights abuse.

Missions and Fact-finding

Undertaking fact finding missions and trial observations in the Kurdish regions, monitoring the human rights situation and maintaining links with those ‘on the ground’.

Public Awareness

Making more people aware of human rights abuses in Kurdish regions, to create public pressure against offenders.

Training and Fellowships

Working to transfer skills to the Kurdish regions and create an independent capacity for human rights work by those living there.

Publications

Providing a definitive source of information on human rights issues affecting the Kurdish regions.
