Urgent appeal to HELP protect the
HUMAN RIGHTS of 30 million people
As a non-partisan voice for those facing oppression, mass displacement, arbitrary detention, torture and repression of free speech, our supporters help protect the lives of 30 million people living in the Kurdish regions across Turkey, Iraq, Iran, Syria, and countries of the former Soviet Union. KHRP supports the advancement of human rights on a global level, fighting for legislative change to ensure the concept of universal human rights -irrespective of race, religion, sex, political persuasion, sexual orientation or other beliefs or opinions - translates into a practical local reality. We urgently need your support.
With a 90% success rate at the European Court of Human Rights, over the past 14 years, KHRP has worked tirelessly to challenge the appalling human rights violations in the Kurdish regions. During this year alone, we have represented more than 98 survivors of abuse through our ongoing case work. This has included the successful conclusion of 5 KHRP cases, securing justice and recompense for 19 of those represented.
But as depicted by the unrest that swept across south-east Turkey in March, there can be no room for complacency - we must not lose ground. Despite undoubted achievements and progress in the Kurdish regions, those living there - especially the most vulnerable and disadvantaged, including women, children and internally displaced persons (IDPs) - are still routinely subjected to abuse simply by virtue of their ethnic origin , making your support of KHRP 's efforts as critical as ever. Where violations may appear less visible, the cumulative effects of discrimination and displacement perpetuate poverty by maintaining an under-educated, under-employed and over-populated status-quo for the citizenry of most Kurdish cities.
With the commencement of EU-Turkey accession negotiations and the constitutional autonomy of Iraqi Kurds, now is the time to act. If like us, you want to capitalise on this unprecedented space for real and meaningful dialogue on the Kurdish issue, then we urge you to please support KHRP TODAY! Help us to use this unique window of opportunity to challenge the deliberate and systematic discrimination against Kurds and other disadvantaged minorities living in the Kurdish regions, helping to support the advancement of human rights on a global level.
Your contribution, however big or small - from giving a donation or organising a speaking event to simply shopping online or searching the web - will help KHRP 's efforts to promote and protect the human rights of ALL people living in the Kurdish regions.
Easy ways to help make a difference:
