Iran and Syria Desk Officer Volunteering Opportunity Print E-mail
Monday, 22 June 2009
KHRP is pleased to announce a vacancy for a volunteer to act as the organisation's Iran and Syria Desk Officer. The role offers an exciting opportunity for a committed individual with experience in the field of human rights and fluency in English. Fluency in Formal Kurmanji/Sorani or a dialect of Kurmanji would also be highly desirable. The responsibilities of the Iran and Syria Desk Officer will include monitoring the application of international human rights standards in the Kurdish regions of Iran and Syria, liaising with policy makers and civil society actors on behalf of the KHRP, suggesting topics and timings for missions to the regions and research to be carried out, and liaising with regional representatives and applicants on cases to be submitted to international judicial bodies. Although this is an unpaid position, reasonable transport expenses within London will be reimbursed.

A full description of the position, as well as a person specification and application form, are available on the KHRP website here .
