As KHRP turns fifteen this month, we are pleased to announce the publication of a special anniversary issue of our quarterly Newsline newsletter, which not only reports on the work carried out by KHRP over the last three months, but reflects on a decade and a half of tireless work for human rights in the Kurdish regions and beyond. 

Newsline 40’s cover story reports on our November fact-finding mission to the regions of Kurdistan, Iraq affected by Turkish and Iranian bombardment. A full page spread inside the magazine displays photographs taken by the mission. Given the commencement of air strikes last weekend, it is all the more important to report directly from the region to demonstrate the devastating effect ongoing bombardment is having on civilian populations.

This special issue also provides details of upcoming celebrations of our anniversary, most importantly the launch in early 2008 of a special 15th anniversary photographic book on the Kurdish regions. The book includes the work of ten internationally renowned contemporary pho­tographers who have worked in the Kurdish regions of Tur­key, Iran, Iraq, Syria and Arme­nia, and whose careers span the last thirty years. As KHRP enters its sixteenth year of operations our work is more relevant than ever and we will continue tirelessly to promote justice, equality and the rule of law in the Kurdish re­gions.
